Spring Fling April

Day 1 – Seatac Airport pick-up. LaConner, WA. www.townoflaconner.org/ Motorcoach transfer to Island Spirit. Enjoy lunch aboard as we welcome you. Today we enjoy LaConner, WA.   A lovely waterfront town, nestled on the Swinomish Channel named for the local native tribe. You will be able to enjoy the quaint shops and visit the local quilting museum. We then take a  ride to Mt. Vernon, WA,  Imagine hundreds of acres of Beautiful Tulips.  We visit a local tulip farm for our wagon ride through Hundreds of acres of tulips!  Tonight it’s a quiet evening in town at the pier.                                                                                                 Breakfast, Lunch, Cocktails, Dinner

Day 2-Coupeville, WA  http://www.cometocoupeville.com
It’s a great day of cruising and touring as we move West to the San Juan Islands.  Your Captain narrates in route.  Watch for Gray Whales in the Possession Sound area.  We visit Coupeville, WA., a historic seaport town named for a sea captain during early Washington history.  First, we enjoy a local museum, then visit Fort Casey for a narrated tour of the historic Fort.  Next, we visit the lighthouse and enjoy some Puget Sound history.  Then we’re off to see the San Juan Islands, cruising under the scenic  Deception Pass Bridge, watching for wildlife and marine life as we go.  There are 175 named islands ahead of us.  Your Captain and crew inform you about them as we travel.  Tonight we anchor in a quiet Bay                                                         Breakfast, Lunch, Cocktails, Dinner

It’s a leisurely Brunch aboard the vessel.  If weather permits, we plan to kayak this morning in a quiet cove.  Later,  we are in search of Orca Whales, known to frequent the area, enjoying some narration from the  Captain with insight into this area.  This afternoon we port at an island jewel – Roche harbor.  (Once an active Limestone quarry, now a home for rich and famous yachters and artists)  Enjoy a wonderful stroll among the yachts. After dinner enjoys a walk up to the Sculpture Gardens to view the local works of island artists. From glass works to iron and steel, enjoy some brilliant displays of art in this unique island setting.  Afterwards, there is an additional walk to the Afterglow Vista, listed on the National Historic Register.  Bring your camera to see this special tribute to founding family McMillian of the area.                                                                   Brunch, Cocktails, Early Dinner

Day 4- Friday Harbor www.visitsanjuans.com/…/friday-harbor… After Breakfast today, we see the parks and sights of San Juan Island.  Your narrated tour will include stops at English Camp, a national park, the local Alpaca Ranch and other sights around this interesting island.  We visit the Friday Harbor Whale Museum for a tour, then enjoy time in the town of Friday Harbor.  Weather permitting we may kayak in a quiet bay this afternoon.

Day 5 –  Everett, WA. Boeing Airplane Plant Tour  www.city-data.com/city/Everett-Washington.htm Today is Captain’s Choice Day!  We may visit another local seaport town or we may have a chance to see more Orca whales.  It’s up to Nature.  Afterward, we plan to visit one of Washington states most interesting attractions-The Boeing Airplane companies Wide Body Aircraft assembly plant.  Enjoy a dinner cruise to Seattle afterward and a cozy night dockside.

Day 6 – Wake up in Seattle and visit Pike Place market before your on to the airport for flights home.
