Columbia River Cruise Itinerary From Portland
Columbia River Cruise – Portland, OR to Spokane, WA
This itinerary is for the Columbia River Cruise from Portland to Spokane
(Unless listed, each day’s meals include: Breakfast, lunch, cocktails, dinner)
Day 1 – Portland, OR
Transportation provided from Portland, OR to the vessel. Lunch is served en-route. Freshen-up, meet the crew, then you’re off on the Astoria Trolley, that will take you to the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Afterward, you head back to the Island Spirit for dinner and a quiet evening dockside in Astoria.
Day 2 – Cape Disappointment Lighthouse
Today we see the famed Columbia River Bar with a beautiful view of the Pacific. The coach will take us to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse and interpretive center. Our park ranger is our docent and speaks about the maritime history. We will visit the jetty and beach. This evening we are in port in Astoria.
Day 3 – St. Helen’s
Today we get underway early from Astoria. We are cruising upstream to the Oregon town of St. Helen’s. We will enjoy this day taking a walk, shop, and tour this riverfront island – Sand Island. This evening we should be dockside.
Day 4 – Columbia Gorge
Today we will visit the Bonneville Lock and Dam. Thrill to the Powerhouse tour and salmon ladders. This evening we will be dockside.
Day 5 – Multnomah Falls
Today we will tour the Multnomah Falls, and then take a visit to the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center. This afternoon we will cruise through the locks and anchor above the John Day Lock.
Day 6 –Condon, OR
This morning we cruise to Arlington, OR. We will take our coach to visit an old west community of Condon, OR. We will take a tour of the museum, and tour the town. Later today we will learn about the wind generators in the area. Tonight we will take a river cruise to our evening port in Burbank.
Day 7 – River Cruising
Today we take a river cruise and transit through the Lower Granite Lock and the Little Goose Dam Lock today. We are on the Snake River today. It is a peaceful day with locks, food, and friends. As we move up the river we will enjoy the geology of the area. We will visit Lyons Ferry and the Palouse River. Tonight we will anchor in a quiet cove.
Day 8 – Clarkston, Lewiston, ID
This morning we will arrive in the Clarkson, Lewiston area. We have cruised from the Pacific Ocean to Lewiston, ID. Today we will take an adventure on the Hell’s Canyon Jet Boat tour. You will enjoy a narrated journey through the canyons and a leisurely stop along the way to enjoy the scenery. Afterward, you will head back to the Island Spirit for your final evening aboard.
Day 9 – Spokane, WA
Breakfast aboard the Island Spirit followed by motorcoach to Spokane, WA
